• Researches, designs, and develops high quality computer software systems.
• Responsible for component design, development, unit testing, and integration testing of web applications.
• Provides application/technology expertise.
• Creates technical design documentation for software changes and development.
• Works with functional architecture and quality assurance teams to review documentation and support those roles within the development lifecycle.
• Conducts code reviews for system modifications and development.
• Keeps management team apprised of work progress and is proactive in communicating any concerns or opportunities for better project delivery.
• Required to keep up to date on the latest industry trends in the web / java related technologies.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• 1 to 8 years of experience in Java/J2EE software development.
• Significant expertise in Web-development technology (XML, CSS, HTML, HTML5, Javascript, JQuery and AJAX).
• Hands on experience in Java frame work like spring, struts.
• Previous experience with: Oracle, DB2, MS SQL or other relational databases.
• Knowledge of Object Oriented Design and Development.
• Understanding of SDLC methodologies.
• Experience designing, developing, and delivering packaged software or making customizations to existing packaged software applications.
• Strong desire for ownership of assigned tasks.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Basic understanding of retail operations and how packaged software works within this industry is a plus
