GIS Developer >>

The GIS Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing Geographic Information System applications. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in GIS tools, data visualization, and web mapping technologies, with a proven record of at least one published GIS-enabled website.

• Design, develop, and manage GIS based applications and solutions for internal and client projects.

• Plan, coordinate, and execute GIS activities to meet organizational and client goals.

• Manage geospatial databases and develop maps, spatial models, and aerial photography overlays.

• Design and prepare graphic representations of GIS data using QGIS, ArcGIS, Google Earth, or Keyhole Markup Language tools.

• Maintain and modify existing GIS databases to ensure data integrity and performance.

• Perform data entry, editing, and conversion into GIS databases using techniques such as coordinate geometry, tabular entry, and digital data conversion.

• Review existing or incoming geospatial data for accuracy, completeness, and usability.

• Collaborate with cross functional teams to integrate GIS data with web applications and enterprise systems.

• Masters Degree in Geography, Information Technology, Computer Science, Geo Informatics, or a related field.

• Minimum 7 years of experience in GIS software such as QGIS, ArcGIS, Google Earth, or KML.

• Proven experience developing and publishing at least one live GIS based website.

• Strong analytical, problem solving, and database management skills.

• Additional qualifications or certifications in Geo Informatics will be an advantage.

• Experience with spatial data analysis and web GIS frameworks such as Leaflet, Mapbox, or OpenLayers.

• Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, or related programming languages for GIS automation.

• Strong communication and documentation skills.

• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative, project driven environment.
